In the late 1950s, Gibson created three innovative and futuristic-looking models known as the "Modernist" series. These included the Korina Flying V, the Korina Futura, and the Korina Moderne, all intended to revolutionize the product line. While the Flying V and Futura/Explorer were eventually released in 1958, the Moderne's existence remains shrouded in uncertainty. Some sources claim that a few prototypes were made but never sold and were later destroyed, while others suggest that a few Modernes may have made it into circulation. However, to this day, no confirmed physical examples of the 1957 Moderne have been discovered.
