Built as a close recreation of that historic guitar, this signature model combines a solid Engelmann spruce top with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, including the distinctive three-piece back associated with the D-35. Forward-shifted scalloped 1/4 inch bracing gives the guitar a powerful, responsive acoustic voice, while its polished black finish, pearl appointments and Johnny Cash signature details create an unmistakable tribute to the Man in Black.

Features

The solid Engelmann spruce top offers excellent sensitivity and dynamic response, pairing with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides for deep bass, rich overtones and strong projection. The traditional three-piece rosewood back remains one of the defining characteristics of the D-35 design.

Forward-shifted X-bracing uses scalloped 1/4 inch spruce braces to allow the top to move freely and respond to a wide range of playing dynamics. The result is a full, open Dreadnought voice suited to powerful strumming, flatpicking and accompaniment.

The select hardwood neck features a Modified Low Oval profile with a Standard Taper for a traditional Martin feel. A 25.4 inch scale and 1-11/16 inch bone nut provide familiar spacing for players accustomed to classic Dreadnought neck dimensions.

The ebony fretboard is decorated with distinctive star inlays using abalone and mother of pearl, along with a Johnny Cash signature inlay near the end of the fretboard. Grained ivoroid binding with multi-stripe detailing adds contrast against the polished black finish.

An ebony Modern Belly bridge is fitted with a compensated bone saddle, while black bridge pins with abalone dots complement the guitar's dark visual theme. Chrome enclosed-gear tuning machines, a bone nut and black pickguard complete the traditional hardware package.

The D-35 Johnny Cash also features an abalone multi-stripe rosette, bound East Indian rosewood headplate and Old Style Martin script logo. Inside the guitar, a special label signed by C.F. Martin IV and John Carter Cash is individually numbered in sequence.

A Martin hardshell case is included for secure storage and transportation.
