USB Audio Interface
Expandable studio interface with two remote-controllable preamps, ADAT, S/PDIF, MIDI and updated software
Overview
The Focusrite Scarlett 16i16 4th Gen USB Audio Interface is a compact studio hub for artists, producers and hardware-based creators who need more I/O, flexible routing and professional sound in a desktop format. It features two ultra-low-noise remote-controllable mic/line/instrument preamps, four additional line inputs, four balanced line outputs, two independent headphone outputs, MIDI, S/PDIF, ADAT expansion and loopback. With Auto Gain, Clip Safe, two Air modes and Focusrite Control 2 support, the Scarlett 16i16 is built to handle guitars, vocals, synths, grooveboxes, controllers, outboard gear and expandable project studio setups.
Features
The Scarlett 16i16 gives you two of Focusrite’s detailed 4th Gen Scarlett preamps with a wide 69 dB gain range, making it easy to capture vocals, instruments and microphones with clarity. The front-panel combo inputs support mic, line and instrument sources, while Hi-Z instrument operation gives guitars and basses a natural amp-like feel when recording direct.
Additional rear-panel line inputs make the 16i16 a strong fit for synths, drum machines, grooveboxes and other hardware that you may want to keep connected. Four balanced line outputs allow expanded routing for monitors, outboard gear or alternate speaker setups, while Alt speaker switching makes it easier to compare mixes on a second pair of speakers.
ADAT and S/PDIF connectivity let you expand the interface as your studio grows, adding more channels through compatible external gear. MIDI In and Out make it easy to integrate controllers, synthesizers and other MIDI-equipped devices, while loopback supports streaming, sampling, podcasting and capturing computer audio.
Auto Gain helps set recording levels quickly, and Clip Safe automatically helps protect takes from clipping when levels get too hot. Two Air modes provide creative tone shaping: Presence mode adds clarity and forward detail, while Presence and Harmonic Drive adds extra midrange character and punch. Two independent headphone outputs and Focusrite Control 2 support make the interface practical for performers, engineers and collaborative sessions.
