Epiphone and the Gibson Custom Shop have joined forces once more to birth the Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V - a true copy of the guitar designed by the infamous automotive artist Ray Dietrich. Debuting in 1963, the Firebird™ was Gibson's pioneer neck-through-body model, winning over the hearts of musicians in countless genres, such as blues icon Johnny Winter, The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards and Brian Jones, Eric Clapton, and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music, among others.
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V gives you vintage Firebird features at a budget-friendly cost. The 9-ply neck-through-body, built with mahogany and walnut, extends to the sides with mahogany body wings. Kluson® planetary geared “banjo” tuners keep the strings in place at the headstock, while the redesigned Maestro™ Vibrola™ with the Epiphone logo holds everything steady on the other end. The electronics are top-notch too, with Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucker™ pickups, Alnico 5 magnets, CTS® potentiometers, Mallory™ capacitors, and a Switchcraft® 3-way toggle switch and 1/4” output jack.
This accurate recreation not only looks like a classic Firebird V, but also sounds like one. Plus, it comes with a hardshell case made by Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom.
