The Martin D-18 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar w/Hardshell Case is one of Martin's most enduring designs, combining a solid spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides for a powerful, balanced acoustic voice. Its full-size Dreadnought body delivers strong bass, bright trebles and a punchy, articulate midrange, while Forward-Shifted X bracing with Golden Era scalloped spruce braces provides excellent projection, sustain and dynamic response. A Golden Era Modified Low Oval neck with High-Performance Taper gives this classic workhorse a comfortable modern playing feel.

Features

The solid spruce top provides excellent headroom, clarity and dynamic range, while solid mahogany back and sides contribute a strong fundamental voice with focused mids, crisp articulation and a warm, woody character. The D-14 Fret Dreadnought body delivers the volume and low-end authority that have made the D-18 a favourite for flatpicking, strumming, accompaniment and recording.

Forward-Shifted X bracing uses Golden Era scalloped 5/16 inch spruce braces to help the soundboard respond freely. This vintage-inspired bracing contributes to the D-18's strong projection, sustain and open acoustic character while retaining the clarity and definition associated with mahogany construction.

The select hardwood neck features Martin's Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile with a High-Performance Taper. Its 25.4 inch scale and 1-3/4 inch nut width provide comfortable spacing for chord work, flatpicking and detailed acoustic playing, while the satin neck finish offers a smooth feel in the fretting hand.

The ebony fretboard features traditional Old Style 18 abalone inlays, complemented by black body binding, a faux tortoise pickguard and an Old Style 18 multi-stripe rosette. The understated appointments preserve the clean, functional appearance that has long defined the D-18.

An ebony Golden Era Modern Belly bridge is fitted with a compensated bone saddle and ebony bridge pins. A bone nut, East Indian rosewood headplate and nickel open-gear tuning machines with butterbean knobs complete the traditional hardware package.

The D-18 comes pre-strung with Martin Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 Phosphor Bronze Medium strings and includes a Martin hardshell case with a laminated wood shell, plush interior and brass or nickel-plated hardware for secure storage and transportation.
