NUVO Musical Instruments

Making Music More Accessible

NUVO Instrumental was founded in 2008 by Graham Lyons and Max Clissold with a mission to help more people experience the joy of making music. The company approaches traditional instruments from a fresh design perspective, focusing on lighter weight, easier handling, durability and beginner-friendly playability while preserving a genuine musical experience.

Designed with Education in Mind

NUVO has become closely associated with music education, developing instruments and learning programs intended to reduce the physical and practical barriers that can make traditional instruments difficult for younger players. Its products have earned multiple NAMM Best in Show and Best Tools for Schools awards, and NUVO instruments are distributed in more than 30 countries.

The NUVO Zip-Kit

The Zip-Kit extends that philosophy into percussion. Invented by Dave Wish, founder of the nonprofit Music Will, and developed with NUVO, the fully acoustic Zip-Kit was created so more students could learn drums without the size, storage and portability challenges of a traditional kit. The complete set packs into its bass drum case and can be expanded with compatible toms, cymbals and mounting accessories.
