The torrefied spruce top undergoes Taylor's proprietary roasting process to add warmth and an aged-in tonal character while retaining the clarity, balance and projection associated with spruce. Paired with layered Indian rosewood back and sides, the 217e Plus SB produces a strong, versatile acoustic voice with clear low-end power and a warm, blended response.

Taylor's Grand Pacific body is a round-shoulder design created to produce a warm, cohesive voice with powerful lows and smooth note-to-note transitions. Its tonal character makes the 217e Plus SB particularly well suited to vocal accompaniment, strumming, flatpicking and recording.
