USED SPECIAL!
2010 Taylor DN Acoustic-Electric Guitar – USD810CE
Sitka Spruce Top | Indian Rosewood Back & Sides | Expression System 1 | Hardshell Case Included
This guitar has been inspected and tested and is in excellent condition. We'd say mint, but there is one teeny, tiny ding on the lower bout, so small, it didn't show up in any of the photographs when we attempted to snap a pic of it.
The 2010 Taylor DN (Dreadnought) acoustic-electric guitar delivers bold projection and classic tone, ideal for players who favor powerful strumming and full-bodied resonance. With a solid Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, this model blends warmth, clarity, and dynamic response. The original Expression System electronics provide reliable amplified performance, making it a versatile choice for stage and studio.

Expression System (ES1) Taylor’s original Expression System uses magnetic sensors and a proprietary preamp to capture the guitar’s acoustic voice. It delivers a warm, natural tone with minimal feedback, though it lacks the dynamic range and clarity of later versions.
Comparison: 2010 vs. 2025 Taylor DN Model
| Feature | 2010 Model (ES1) | 2025 Model (ES2 + V-Class) |
|---|---|---|
| Electronics | Expression System (magnetic sensors) | Expression System 2 (piezo sensors behind saddle) |
| Bracing | Standard X-Bracing | V-Class Bracing (enhanced sustain and intonation) |
| Tonewoods | Sitka Spruce / Indian Rosewood | Torrefied Sitka Spruce / Indian Rosewood or other options |
| Amplified Sound | Warm and full, slightly compressed | Clearer, more dynamic and responsive |
| Playability Enhancements | Traditional Taylor neck and feel | Refined contours, improved resonance |
The 2025 version benefits from Taylor’s V-Class bracing and ES2 electronics, offering improved sustain, tuning stability, and a more natural amplified tone. While the newer models feature technical upgrades, the 2010 DN would be a great choice for a player who wants a robust, warmer and more expressive instrument with classic Taylor tone and build quality.
