Overview

The Electro-Harmonix Pico Shimmer Cosmic Reverb Pedal is a compact ambient reverb designed for players who want everything from classic octave shimmer to cinematic synth-like pads and sparkling glitch textures. Inspired by shimmer concepts from EHX Oceans reverb pedals, Pico Shimmer combines reverb, modulation, delay and synthesis in a small pedalboard-friendly format. With three distinct shimmer scenes, a morphing Voice control, infinite reverb access and secondary knob functions, it gives guitarists, bassists and experimental players a wide range of spacious sounds without taking up much room.

Features

Pico Shimmer includes three creative scenes, each built around a different atmospheric character. Intergalactic delivers a classic shimmer voice with polyphonic octaves, reverb, modulated delay, compression and string synthesis for cinematic ambience. Off-World gives you a smoother, mellower shimmer with enhanced delay modulation and vintage-style synth textures. Etherdust takes the sound in a more experimental direction with randomized delay time for granular sparkles, stutters and glitch-style echoes.

The control layout is simple on the surface but powerful once you start shaping sounds. Blend sets the wet/dry balance, Tone adjusts the brightness, Time controls reverb decay up to infinite sustain, and Voice morphs the effect from clean plate reverb to classic shimmer to ethereal strings. The Scene button switches between the three modes and also unlocks secondary knob functions for deeper adjustment of reverb mix, delay time, modulation depth and modulation rate.

For performance, the footswitch can be held down to access infinite reverb on the fly, making it easy to create pad-like swells and sustained ambience between phrases. Pico Shimmer also offers three buffered bypass options - digital, analog and hybrid - giving players flexibility in how the pedal behaves when bypassed. With mono operation, a compact Pico enclosure and an included power adapter, it is easy to add big atmospheric reverb sounds to almost any pedalboard.
