Gibson Southern Jumbo 40s Original Acoustic Electric w/Case
A premium round-shoulder Gibson with Sitka spruce, rosewood depth and Baggs HiFi DNA electronics
The Gibson Southern Jumbo 40s Original Acoustic Electric builds on Gibson's classic round-shoulder formula with solid rosewood back and sides for deeper lows, sparkling highs and broad projection. A solid Sitka spruce top adds touch-sensitive response and dynamic range, while the mahogany SlimTaper neck and rosewood fretboard provide a smooth, familiar playing feel rooted in the model's 1940s heritage.
Features
Mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays, multi-ply top and back binding, a tortoiseshell teardrop pickguard and nickel Grover open-back tuners give the Southern Jumbo an unmistakably premium vintage presentation. The belly-down rosewood bridge uses a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins, while the Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system captures the guitar's natural voice through dual bridge-plate sensors and discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls.
