OVERVIEW
Experience the same rich sound and experimental features of the original Mono/Poly, now available in a compact and user-friendly synthesizer. Immerse yourself in the flexibility of x-mod and sync routing, and the unique round-robin oscillator triggering. With four stacked oscillators, this synthesizer delivers the same quality previously only attainable in large modular systems.
The MULTIPOLY synthesizer combines Korg's cutting-edge analog modeling technology with a unique blend of powerful oscillators and customizable filters, resulting in a versatile and hands-on instrument for musicians and sound designers. Its innovative features include hardware mash-ups and a diverse selection of envelope, VCA, and portamento circuits, along with virtual voice cards for organic timbral variation. With additional elements like Layer Rotate and Motion Sequencing 2.0, this synthesizer offers endless possibilities for sound manipulation and modulation.
Next-level analog modeling
Experience the enhanced multi/poly with advanced analog modeling technology, featuring redesigned filters and oscillators that provide incredible sound quality. Each voice is equipped with a Virtual Voice Card that accurately models the unique variations found in analog hardware components. This adds a natural richness to the timbre, and you have full control over the degree of variation in each sound.
The voice cards in this analog modeling synthesizer operate similarly to those in an analog synth, continuously playing in the background even if they are not being heard. The envelopes continue to evolve, creating a more realistic sound when playing a pad with a long release time. Unlike digital synths, the oscillators and LFOs maintain their phase and the resonance continues to ring, while the pitch of each oscillator also drifts slightly over time, emulating the subtle pitch variations of analog hardware.
Oscillators
The Multi/Poly synth features FOUR oscillators per Program, providing rich and intricate tones. These oscillators can be set to Classic, Digital, or Waveshaper types. The Classic option emulates traditional analog synth oscillators with incredible accuracy and effortless thickness.
There are 11 options to choose from, including single and dual waveforms, to replicate synths that produced multiple waveforms simultaneously. Dedicated knobs on the front panel allow for precise manipulation of pulse width, triangle "lean", dual-waveform blend, and more. The Digital oscillator can play wavetables with up to 64 steps, similar to vintage hybrid synths and modern eurorack modules. With over 200 factory wavetables to start with and the ability to load your own through the Editor/Librarian software for macOS and Windows, the possibilities are endless.
You can even import modwave wavetables directly or convert wavetables from popular software formats. The 30+ Modifiers offer a range of
Our Waveshaper feature offers a "West-Coast" approach, where you can process simple waveforms (such as sine or triangle) through a shaper table. By modulating gain into the shaper, you can create glassy, dynamic harmonics. Choose from over 90 different shaper types, including the traditional wavefolder timbres of the Berkeley shaper.
The multi/poly also adds a unique twist with modulatable pulse width, adding another layer of richness and motion. In addition to oscillators 1-4, you'll have a separate noise generator with dedicated filtering and saturation, as well as a ring modulator that can take inputs from all of the above. This synthesizer also expands on the original Mono/Poly's powerful oscillator sync and x-mod capabilities, making it possible to achieve timbres that were previously only possible with a large modular setup. You can even create unique sounds by simultaneously following Oscillator 1 with Oscillators
Dual modeled filters
The Korg Multi/Poly synthesizer boasts newly improved filters, including an impressive selection of vintage options with authentic, pleasing saturation. There are five 4-pole self-resonating models to choose from, starting with the beloved classic Mono/Poly sound. The Mini model mimics the iconic ladder filter of an American mono-synth, with reduced resonance at lower frequencies for those coveted bass tones. The Pro model is based on the first programmable polyphonic synthesizer and offers strong, sweeping resonance throughout the spectrum. Lastly, there are also 4-pole self-resonating highpass and bandpass filters known as Ladder HP and BP.
