Radial McBoost Mic Signal Booster Class-A FET with 25dB Gain - MCBOOST
- DETAILS
Radial McBoost
Microphone Signal Booster
Phantom-powered microphone booster with up to 26 dB of clean Class-A gain, selectable impedance and variable level control
The Radial McBoost Microphone Signal Booster is designed to increase the output of low-level dynamic and ribbon microphones before the signal reaches a microphone preamp. Its Class-A differential DC-coupled FET circuit provides up to 26 dB of clean gain with wide frequency response, low noise and minimal distortion. With selectable input impedance, multiple gain modes and standard XLR connectivity, the McBoost is well suited to recording studios, live sound, broadcast work and long microphone cable runs where a stronger, cleaner signal is required.
Features
The McBoost provides three useful gain ranges: +26 dB at full gain, +20 dB at half gain, and continuously variable gain from +4 dB to +25 dB. This allows the amount of signal boost to be matched more precisely to different microphones, preamps and working environments.
Its Class-A differential DC-coupled FET audio circuit is engineered for transparent signal amplification, with a frequency response extending from below 7 Hz to beyond 30 kHz. A 116 dB dynamic range, low equivalent input noise and very low distortion help preserve the natural character and transient detail of the connected microphone.
A three-position impedance selector provides 600 ohm, 2.7k ohm and 30k ohm input settings, allowing the response of compatible dynamic and ribbon microphones to be optimized. The 220 ohm output impedance provides a strong source for feeding microphone preamps and driving longer cable runs.
The McBoost operates inline through standard XLR connections, with an XLR female input and XLR male output. Power is supplied from standard 48V phantom power, eliminating the need for a separate local power supply.
Built from cold rolled steel, the McBoost is designed for demanding professional environments including recording studios, stages and broadcast applications. Its compact inline format makes it easy to place close to the microphone so gain can be added directly at the source.

Why you should choose the Radial McBoost Microphone Signal Booster
The Radial McBoost Microphone Signal Booster is a strong choice when a passive dynamic or ribbon microphone needs more level without sacrificing clarity. Its Class-A FET circuit, selectable impedance, flexible gain structure and low-noise performance provide significantly more control than a simple fixed-gain booster. With rugged steel construction, phantom-powered operation and professional XLR connectivity, it is a versatile tool for studio, stage and broadcast applications where clean microphone gain matters.
